MakerLink Terms of Service

Last Updated: 4/21/2026

1. Introduction

By using MakerLink, you agree to these terms. We connect Designers (who create 3D models), Producers (who 3D print them), and Retailers (who sell them). MakerLink does not own or control any designs or products—we simply provide the platform. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the platform.

2. Your Account

- You must be 18 or older to create an account. - Your account info must be accurate, and you can’t impersonate others. - You can’t transfer or sell your account unless approved by MakerLink. - If you violate the rules, MakerLink can suspend or delete your account. - You can delete your account anytime, but outstanding payments/orders must still be completed.

3. Intellectual Property

- Designers own their designs. - Producers can only use a design to fulfill specific orders—they can’t resell or distribute designs. - Retailers get a license to sell 3D-printed products but don’t own the designs. - If you believe your copyright is being violated, you can submit a DMCA takedown request.

4. How the Platform Works

For Designers: You upload designs, set prices, and get paid per sale. For Producers: You fulfill orders and must delete design files after production. For Retailers: You license designs and sell products. You’re responsible for ensuring product quality. MakerLink mediates disputes but doesn’t guarantee quality.

5. Payments & Fees

- Designers set a retail price (MSRP). - Producers get paid a set fee per product. - Retailers pay for products, shipping, and MakerLink’s commission. - MakerLink takes a commission from each sale. - Payments are processed every 2 weeks via Stripe, PayPal, or similar. - Users are responsible for their own taxes and must provide required tax documents.

6. Shipping, Returns & Disputes

- MakerLink doesn’t print, store, or ship products—Producers handle this. - Products are custom-made, so they’re generally non-refundable. - If an order is lost or defective, MakerLink may offer a reprint or replacement. - If a shipment is undeliverable, the buyer must pay for reshipment or the product is donated after one week.

7. What You Can & Can’t Do

✅ Allowed: Selling through the platform and using MakerLink’s tools properly. ❌ Not Allowed: Circumventing MakerLink’s payment system, copying/reselling designs, hacking, or providing misleading info.

8. MakerLink’s Liability

- MakerLink provides the platform "as is" and doesn’t guarantee it will always work perfectly. - We’re not liable for lost profits, data, or indirect damages. - Our maximum liability is $100 or what you paid in fees over the last 3 months (whichever is higher).

9. Disputes & Legal Stuff

- These terms are governed by Wyoming law. - We prefer to resolve issues through negotiation first. If that doesn’t work, disputes go to a Wyoming court.
